So, I use Linkedin --> which I think it's pretty standard for ppl that work in IT.
After moving here and updating my profile with the new details, implicitly location, started noticing that:
- first 2 months radio silence
- after I started receiving offers from indian recruiters, a shitload of them
- funny part was that sometime you receive for one new job listing up to 5 messages
- EU/CH recruiters are becoming a rarity
Conclusion: all indian recruiters are offering shit pay and unfortunately these guys are driving down all of the market salaries. I do like to reply to every recruiter and just tell them that no one will accept this amount of money --> but if ppl are accepting, not knowing exactly the market average --> this may have the effect of eventually having a thread like is 50 k realistic ?
To give a quick example : for the same job with 5 offers : values were : 450 , 600, 500 , 750 (these guys really wanted the position filled) and 550-> with the possibility of 650. So, now you just need to do the math, and consider how much is the outsourcing company earning off your ass.
This rarely happens with EU/UK/CH recruiters --> most of them are offering average market salaries/ price per day.
Nestle were never known for paying high salaries, they were always mid-level but with a lot of subsidized advantages, canteen, shop, sailing club (3 yachts on the lake), tennis club, etc etc, but also at this time, Nestle were known to be a very loyal employer and it was very uncommon to be made redundant.
Times under Ulf-André have changed big time......
Lower cost than North-Western Europe, highly skilled workforce, same time zone, easy connectivity and great country to visit regularly to check on the performance of the teams
Spain, Poland, both great locations for the balance of skilled people and lower cost but it is getting closer in terms of the financial difference with ch- Spain for example will command 70-80k eur for decent people. Ch has lower tax both employee and corporate and is massively stable. For pure tech there’s hiring in lower cost but there is still significant demand in Switzerland and lots of openings.
The ‘end of Switzerland’ and ‘all jobs offshore’ line has been going for 20 years now, there is still high demand here.
