1st/2nd pillar pension - move to another EU country

Dear EFs,

I am moving from Switzerland to another EU country and would like to know how people like me deal with their pensions.

Below is the relevant information I got from the relevant authorities:

- 1st pillar: as I am from a non-EU country and my country doesn't have an agreement with Switzerland, the Swiss Compensation Office told me that I could withdraw the amount.

- 2nd pillar: I can take the non-mandatory pension with me or keep the non-mandatory pension in a vested benefits account in Switzerland. If I leave the pension in Switzerland, I can take the amount when I retire or move to a non-EU country.

Does anyone have the same information, or is there any wrong information above?

I also would like to ask if anyone has experience with vested benefits accounts in UBS. Is there any fee for opening an account?

Thank you in advance.

Really? I always thought that this was only if you moved to a non EU country and not dependent on nationality.

I thought so too, but the Swiss Compensation Office told me this depends on my nationality. No matter where I move, I can only withdraw the amount
