Hello,
A reminder to check under the bonnet from time to time to avoid nasty surprises.
Not sure what it is about mine, but for the second year in the row some little blighter is getting in and making a mess.
I am investigating getting a anti Marter device of some sort, installed in the engine bay as a permanent fix, any advice welcome.
I bought one of those animal deterrent things that make a noise from Landi. So far so good.
That is not for in the car though.
Use the spray. After a single application you will understand why the fouines don’t like it.
I originally feared that a MARTIAN ate your car ... which would unsettle me a fair bit. But luckily it was not the case; local beasties instead.
Those local beasties shut down the CERN ‘s LHC for a few days.

That weasle was a fouine!
We have small devices fitted to the battery in the two cars which are most likely to get parked outside the garage.
Never had a problem since we had them fitted. Cost around 50chf, fitting included from our local garage.

really awful - think old, smelly dog hovering on the brink…or already past it
Try attaching a cheap quartz watch, they hate the noise (which we can't hear)
It is truly awful but it works.
Blondie knew about this, way back:
how often do you drive the car?
During breeding season, we check the cars every morning. It only takes one marder one night.
This is what I have on my car.
Is it motion actibvated or does it emit sounds all the time?
Car is driven every few days, and often on longer weekend trips.
I realize the issue is that there is quite alot of space under the bonnet compared to others.. so until I get my self an anti marder device, am squeezing the car into the garage and put a less tasty one out for the night...
Last night no cars got eaten...
I think it emits sounds all the time but not sure as I can’t hear anything.
Whatever it is it’s worked.
Put a fake snake under your car. Maybe that would keep them away.
Either that or a photo of this:

Yes, ultraschall / ultrasound, so no worries.
This is the manufacturer’s website https://www.marderabwehr.de/en/produ…asonic-device/
As nerd, it stresses me a bit to see the ultrasound device connected directly to the car battery and not to the fuse box. But, the manufacturer says the device has a 0.5A fuse, so the power consumption must be minimal, nothing will happen…I must suppress my nerdom.
You can always run an in-line fuse for extra safety
