Hey guys
I would like to get your opinion on using accounting software on my own for a small kmu with just one person, later 2 or 3. I don’t expect much work on accounting as a small engineering services company.
The point is, I don’t know anything about accounting. I am thinking of doing a quick course on it and then using one of the following products. But I’m not sure which one. Could you please help me which one is the best for my case?
Klara (the one is offered by startups.ch)
Bexio
Atlanto
etc
We use Bexio and are very satisfied with it. Licences for just one user are available, but also for 3 users. We used their support hotline in the beginning a couple of times and got almost all the answers we were looking for.
They are not helping you to become an accountant. For that they need you to get a trustee. We managed without one so far, after switching to Bexio.
Considering how backwards the Swiss market is compared to global offerings, it's the best I came across when checking them all out. There are some weird things, like if you don't log in and sync your bank transactions every 5 days then you need to import the files manually, but otherwise the multi-currency handling is decent and also configuration options
Stay away from Klara, not a good experience and a very limited product
You won't need an accountant for general book-keeping, but overall this stuff isnt totally easy. Maybe get an accountant who knows Bexio to help out with ad hoc questions/consultations vs the ongoing admin
