Acupancture

I have received a really good feedback from friends back home about acupancture for older dogs with pain in legs and wanted to know if someone here in Switzerland has the vet to recommend? thanks!

My first wife was, probably still is, an acupuncturist, she successfully treated a friends kitten that was already booked in to have a paw amputated because of nerve damage (it spent a night hanging from a curtain cord it got the paw trapped in). Surprisingly peaceful process too, the kitten generally fell asleep when the needles went in.

For pain relief it seems to have been very effective in humans but really needs the underlying cause treated; my ex used to complain about GPs going on weekend acupuncture courses and then just needling pain relief points until they stopped working.

I’d say try it.

My old girl had acupuncture in Belgium and then in Switzerland, she also had physio/osteopath treatment in between the acupunctures. Well worth it as we were able to delay and then minimise the use of painkillers as her condition progressed. I will use it for the current pair if they ever need it too.

We used Dr Rohdewald near Zug which is probably too far for you but he may know someone in your area.

Don’t think twice, give it a go and see if it helps.
