Advice on Monthly Rental Apartments - Geneva (but also Switzerland in General)

as mentioned, try glocals.com. Your wife will have access to UN classifieds, where many people advertise lease takeover - certainly when they finish their assignments in Geneva. Other than that, I am not sure of any site specifically advertising 'lease takeovers' - actually, these will be the Regies themselves, and then you are on the open market...

But still, if I understand you correctly, you are now not looking for a lease takeover but short term stay - so either sublets again via means I mentioned or AirBNB. And not sure AirBNB will be much more expensive.

The main ones are:

Homegate.ch

Immostreet.ch

Immoscout24.ch (my preferred one)

For short-term rentals, it's generally been France that caters to this. Cheap, convient and more space. You could get small apartment with all the conviencies with flexible rental periods. Now I'm not at all sure how this might be hindered in Covid times but still worth looking into.

If you are looking at a relocation agent per your other posts, they should be able to advise and easily arrange this for you.

I'm just going through the same process and may be a few weeks ahead. I've now been in Geneva for one week and am looking for somewhere more long-term to live.

In terms of short term lets I got recommended www.gerpar.ch by a colleague, they have more properties than listed on their website and can be quite flexible based on anecdotal evidence (3rd hand so worth enquiring further with them if needed). In the end I went with www.homenhancement.ch due to availability, they've been very responsive so far and I've had no issues yet.

Hope this helps.

Dave.

Thanks everyone. We found a place!

Excellent congratulations! How did you find it in the end? Im sure many people will be helped by your experience

We contacted a few relocation agents, and found one we liked, and bundled it together with a checklist of things that we need (help with the house hunting for the permanent housing, and the Regie at both the temporary and the long term). We've never met in person, but will later this week, and after we handle everything, I'll share the experience. The price, while not cheap, seems fair, again, I'll share after we are successful/unsuccessful with the experience.
