Alternatives to baking parchment/greaseproof paper

waxpaper ≠ baking parchment. The first one is, as its name implies, waxed. Not really useful for backing but very good for wrapping sandwiches in it. They will neither dry out nor do they get soggy. It was once available in Migros as Sandwichpapier/Wachspapier. Its feel is like the reddish paper that the Bratwurst gets wrapped in (but this is not the same). Swiss source here. or here and here

That will work for backing, but it's not "waxed paper". So it depends on what the poster wants it for. Waxed paper is also used for crafts/quilting/printing/etc. Backing paper will not work as it won't stick to your work. And as she said, is sold in sheets at DIY places and at fabric stores where they will sell it by the centimeter/meter.

I love Lakeland too- used to go regularly to the Nottingham shop. Just checked website and their deliver to EU any size or weight for £7.50. Can get delivered to a friend in France just across border- we should organise an EF group order 2-3 times a year. Anyone up for it?
