I was wondering if anyone can recommend a reliable garage for the repair of Audi vehicles (out of warranty) other than AMAG in the Zug-Zürich (silver coast) area.
I had several bad experiences with AMAG and would prefer to avoid them.
Thanks

I bought 2 VWs from them some year ago. Kuhn himself was still in change then and on handover of both new cars he put a orphanage payment slip in the and said pay it when you are happy with the car!
Had an engine check light come up. Went to AMAG, who cleared the error log, said I should keep driving and come back if the error pops up again. T he very next day complete engine failure (Motorschaden) - in the Uetliberg tunnel... long story short the car was an economic full loss. (It was an 8-year old A6) - sold at 4% of list price
AMAG did not even apologise or offer any explanation why I was let go when there was a clear indication there was something wrong with the engine.
I'm not an expert, but that looks like defective car maintenance and car mechanics are liable for that. Did you ever get a bit of legal counseling on this issue?
I am not sure whether deleted errors can be recovered from the car. But it doesn't matter as the car is now gone. Probably repaired in eastern europe and sold for a good profit, since in most these cases the parts are not that expensive but dismantling the engine and finding the damaged part is time consuming - which is too expensive here.
Well, thanks for sharing the story. I'll try to get everything in written form from any dealership or mechanic in the future. At least pay by card to have a payment record.
