Also, please check your security settings on both your router and your laptop, as Vista has had some issues with specific security settings (WPA + PSK, I think- has to do with a broadcast flag MS introduced with Vista, I think).

To verify if this is an issue, disable security on your router & try to connect, plug your computer directly into your router, or enable your router's guest network function (if your router has that option available).

I might only be half right on this, as I am trying to remember off the top of my head.
