And I'm not against progress, I've done e-banking since the early 90-ies (and it wasn't even new then). It was called telebanking (I still puzzle people by using that name) and was viedotext.
Still, my handy has nothing - and will have nothing - to do with my banking - not the kind of "progress" I support. If they try to force me I return to paying cash

They already have. No business with me then. Told them.
well, well, that's the friendliest message from the Swiss Post I've ever seen.
Too risky for me
Except Twunt, it's useful so save a few quid on concert tix etc but I don't use it in the wild.
There is a downside of two factor authentication using SMS, SIM-Swap fraud.
LOL.
Update: went into Fribourg today to set up the post hold at the post office. Managed to do it eventually (lack of French the problem - I know! I must learn more). Cost CHF25.00! I can do it online for CHF8. Or I could. Anyone know if the online price has changed since last July/August?
Now they have an offer, it is for free.
You got you password and get the login via sms, but i don' t use it on a mobile.
When you send money to a new account or large amounts, you have to confirm aswell via sms code.
Since you "don't use it on a mobile", which method do you choose to receive and send the necessary sms?
And guess what I got from SwissPost today. Sign up for their SwissID thingy. 10 days to decide.
Anyone know if the SwissID thing gets rid of the mobile phone SMS thing to set up a post hold? I doubt it, but thought I’d ask before deciding whether to sign up or not.
Either random letters are being lost, or - seems more probable to me - the ePostOffice "Subscription with scanning" service is acting up again. Random letters are being lost into that black hole.
I had an itching feeling that I had not seen my AGK and health insurance bills for a suspiciously long time. An email from the ePostOffice system stating that I have a letter got me antsy, and true enough, there was a letter. It shouldn't be there, what with the service being canceled. Adding insult to injury, the letter was sent beginning of May, and I received the notification beginning of July.
But this was not a missing bill. I did a round of contacting creditors, and so far at least two have confirmed that they're waiting for payment. No sign of those letters in a physical mail box _or_ in this hell-spawn of an electronic service.
I'm somewhat despairing. It's all too easy to imagine a couple of more missing letters, a black mark in the credit report, and snowballing effects from there.
Post has no direct contact information, and talking to the folk at the local office, they say they don't know anything about this kind of thing, please contact the head office.
Does anyone have any idea how to work this kind of situation? I've submitted a web form plea for help, certainly, but based on my previous interaction, that may or may not lead anywhere, as we see from the current woes.
You can either sent it to the main address:
Post CH AG
Contact Center Post
Wankdorfallee 4
3030 Bern
or specifically to one of the directors (Mitglied des Verwaltungsrat, Präsident des Verwaltungsrates), or CEO (Vorsitzender der Geschäftsleitung) https://be.chregister.ch/cr-portal/a...HE-435.551.225
(Instead of "Contact Center Post" write "z.Hd. Responsible is the person who manages PostMail https://www.post.ch/en/about-us/comp...ive-management as the E-Post Office is an offer and service of them, and they are also responsible for mail forwarding etc. https://www.post.ch/en/customer-cent...st-office/info
