I'm sorry if it has been answered already but I couldn't find it in search.
I have a sole proprietorship with simplified bookkeeping (online shop selling alcohol)
In Zurich tax declaration there is a section called:
1. Angaben über das Warenlager
Do I need to fill in this part at all if I'm using Ist-method?
As I understand I need to state my inventory at the beginning and the end of the year but I don't really understand what is meant with:
1.1 Anschaffungs- oder Herstellungskosten (bzw. maximal Marktwert)
1.2 Deklarierter Wert
1.3 Unterbewertung
Can someone provide a simple example? What does it affect at all in my tax statement (it's neither revenue nor expense)?
Defining the value of the goods in the warehouse: do I simply multiply the amounts by my retail price? (e.g. I have 10 pcs. left and my selling price is 10,- CHF per piece. Is the inventory value 100,- CHF?)
Anschaffungskosten is the purchased cost of the merchandise. The declared value can be 2/3 of the purchased cost. The undervaluation can be up to 1/3 of the purchased cost. The undervaluation percent can be up to 33.33%. Example:
Thanks for the tip! Whisky actually only gets more expensive with time. So it's a double win!
I'm using simplified bookkeeping which doesn't require the balance sheet, etc. However, it looks like in ZH it's not so simplified as in some other cantons. Luckily, I was doing simple inventory in Excel for my own purposes and now I can track its value.
Thanks for the explanation. I've read that Merkblatt A but didn't get at first what they want. Regarding the declared value: Can I actually use it in the income calculation or do I need to show the full purchased cost at the end of the year? (That's item 5.5 Abz. Waren- und Materialvorräte am Jahresende)
"Regarding the declared value: Can I actually use it in the income calculation or do I need to show the full purchased cost at the end of the year? (That's item 5.5 Abz. Waren- und Materialvorräte am Jahresende)"
The adjusted inventory value at 1.2 should be used at 5.5.
