ANOBAG - companies vs taking care of it alone?

I'm intending to move to Zurich, and work as a software consultant for a US-based company (I have an EU Passport), a job I will keep. I know I'm supposed to undertake the ANOBAG route.

I have found some companies online (Accurity, Taxolution) which seem to just take care of this process for you.

- Is this mandatory? Any recs/preferences if someone is working with a company?

- If not, can I just take care of it on my own?

- Is either more common?

Not sure if you sorted it out? I'm starting my Anobag journey next month so I have plenty of questions about contributions etc.
