Just here to say Hi from another Brit relocating to Switzerland.
My partner has accepted a job in Geneva and we'll be moving at the end of January. It feels like there is too much to sort out between now and then but we'll try to tackle it piecemeal.
It seems like there is some great sources of info on here but we'll no doubt have some questions of our own.
Welcome to the forum, and soon to Switzerland! As you said, there is a lot of info on here, so use it well.
A general tip which makes many other things easier: if you don't know it already, learn the local language as soon as possible! Not only is it easier to inform yourself of what might be required, you can ask your neighbours for a bit of help to understand things and settle in as well.
Thank you, and yes, I’ll certainly aim to pick up some of the language as soon as poss. I’ve not spoken French since A-level (!) but I’m hoping self-teaching Spanish as an adult will make it a little less painful!
Much appreciated Matty, I’ll perhaps drop you a message once I’ve done a bit more background reading. It would be great to hear about your experience so far/finding a place/neighbourhoods etc. Cheers
