Any firsthand experience importing a Porsche?

My strategy is similar by using an independent specialist.

I took the car to the main Porsche dealer (AMAG) who quoted me 10k CHF plus for getting it through the MFK. I then found a brilliant specialist to carry out the essential items at drastically reduced cost (who also gave me some good advice) and am know in the stage of collecting all the required additional docs (CoC for the suspension parts, wheels, etc) so that I have as much paperwork to present when I officially announce the car for import.

I do not often do this but I am so impressed with the service I have received from this independent specialist (detailed updates and photographs of work in progress every night!) and their knowledge of Porsche cars in general that I would not hesitate to recommend them (Deutsch Nine near Kloten).

Gamebuick Please clarify - did they look at your invoice in more depth?

I am friends with the people at http://www.deutschnine.com/ ....very good trusting people....I,along with over 100 people I know on Rennlist forums can also say this is a respectful and excellent garage.

Hi all. If anyone is interested we can supply brand new European specification Porsches. If you would like to know more please do not hesitate to pm me. Only thing to be aware of is that with these there is a 3-4 month wait. These are all imported via the UK, this means that at the moment with the exchange rate there are considerable savings to be had. They have to be paid in British Pounds but the price is set on contract so there is no fluctuation after deal is struck. All the best. Simon

so they are LHD, new and so how much less on avg than CH or US imports?

Hi Jaro, difficult to answer it all depends on the make, model extras etc. If you have something in mind give me details and I will give you a quote. At the moment the Pound is in the cellar and there are real deals to be had. Kind regards. Simon. p.s. all LHD European spec!
