Anybody used SHEIN (shopping site)

It's called Skimlinks. I'm not an expert but I beleive it's an add-on that is like a referral link. It's put in place by the Forum's owners. The idea is it inserts relevant links to things/places/products as those things are being discussed in general terms. I think the owner of EF gets revenue if you click through and maybe if you buy something.

Is it French? Looks more like a drunken text from my wife.

An old English friend, name's Collins.

Maybe your friends should read a bit more.

You might find this in America.... in a French language class.

So you believe to know better than Collins Dictionary .

Why am I not surprised.

That’s the definition of it in American English, it doesn’t mean they actually use the french expression. They use the English version of the expression.

I believe my friends who all say the french expression is not used there.

If anything you’re more likely to see the french bit used in British English but usually only the first half (plus ça change............) with the second part left hanging.

Nobody forces you to accept what one of the main English dictionaries says, obviously that's your choice.

You're just making a fool of yourself.

Back to the topic of cheap clothing from China..

Our first package arrived after 20 days or so..

Actually well packaged, a bit like zalando, nice individual ziplock bag, nicely folded etc. The clothing is amazing if you believe the kids, they love it.. It is of course pretty disposable. I'd be surprised if some of last three washes.

But I guess this is the idea.. Keep on buying more on trend stuff and have the joy of opening more packages. I believe it's called ' a haul '..

Second package is stuck at Zurich customs, had a letter from them saying not enough info on the package, please provide invoice, order details, costs etc.. So I've sent that off and await news.

Edit : Second package cleared customs yesterday..

only amoung the more educated subset of English speakers.

EDIT: a quick google search shows some compiled list of such phrases e.g. https://www.lexico.com/explore/forei...ds-and-phrases

thanks for the info. i became aware of the company only last week as i was reading about Zara and the competition it was getting from Shein. Zara is also an interesting business and is taking an interesting approach to dealing with the shift to online/hybrid business.
