Is anyone driving from Switzerland to the UK on Christmas Day (25th) with spare room for 1 (my son, age 20)?
I'm not doing it this year, but if I were then it would be good to know if my passenger drives to help relieve the load to Calais/Dunkerque?
I normally drive if going with my kids. Whenever I go alone I fly as its more convenient. Prices are still not too bad for flights on the 25th.
Doubt anyone is going to be doing it on Christmas Day itself and even so they’d have to contend with border force being on strike. Basically don’t even try travelling over Christmas/New Year if you don’t want to be stuck waiting somewhere forever and ever.
Yup, I'm flying to Heathrow on the 30th Dec which is one of the strike days. Hopefully it shouldn't be too bad thanks to the eGates.
I think it's just Border Force at the airports. A friend of mine works for Border Force at Dover so I just messaged her to find out for sure.
EDIT - Not the ferry ports (except New Haven). Just the airports.
