It has to be said that at the scale of both the Apple App business and the Android App business, doing thorough reviews of every single app (and app-update) is a pipe dream.
But Apple has arguably done a better job at preventing malware from taking over.
The phones are also more difficult to root (which reduces piracy - most people who root android phones do so for installing pirated apps - another source of malware, obviously).
As such, the Apple App platform is more lucrative from a developer perspective (though I believe at this point, making a living of an app is hardly possible in the âdeveloped worldâ and as such, you see a lot of apps from people and companies from SEA, China or Pakistan/India.
Anyway, I like the consistency in iOS, the hardware and the attention to detail (which you simply donât get elsewhere).
As I use my phones for a rather long time (2019 XR currently), security-wise itâs probably a toss-up. There are a lot of exploits out there for these phones where the only mitigation is newer hardwareâŚ
