Are there Dangerous/Poisonous Animals in Switzerland?

They're larvae. The special DPL mosquitos* bite and inject tiny eggs just under the skin. They then hatch and the little larvae live there dipping in to your blood supply where necessary. They stay there for about a year after which they gnaw their way out and, being so close to you, of course immediately bite you as an adult mosquito, repeating the pattern for ever.

You may notice some movement under the skin in mid August, as this is their holiday season and they often like to explore a different part of the body.

or similar from your chemist's. Easy to carry and ensures getting the tick really low down and allows for slow twisting to ensure the head and 'claws' are taken safely away.

Here is what we use to remove ticks, from Zooplus.com. Pretty sure they deliver in CH.

So forget the wolves, bears, lynx and snakes...

But what about the boars? Wild pigs can be dangerous, especially when they have young pigglets around, they weigh a lot and usually charge you, their bite is also extreme. They are high on the hunter's list, but the crafty devils are good at hiding, and in many areas they are very numerous. They do taste nice!

Another big danger are simple friendly farm cows, they have often killed people by trampling, again especially dangerous when they have young ones around them.
