Attention Swimmers: Dirty Swiss swimming pools

Or, if the water in the whole pool changes colour, it may put other people of visiting the pool for ever

I love to swim and regularly go to the pool, but the latest info has really put me off

Can't figure out what's better: a polluted swimming pool or the "puces de canard" from the lake water.

When we were young my parents told my sisters & I that they did this in pools. I never dared pee in one. Ever.

--> thats mean ...

Kidding ... I am sure a lot of parents still use the same trick.

Good news is that they have realised that it is a "problem", and they are going to clean it .. I am shelving my plan to learn swimming till I get news that it is indeed so ...

Well, things in the Zürichsee indeed have changed to the better. I well remember schooltime, when we carefully swam around dead fish on their happy way down to downtown ! And when the innerlake vegetation at places reached the surface. Swimming in those times sometimes was a good survival training, but at times not too hygienic !

As I dislike both local dictators

and rules like showering in ice cold showers, or being expected to "jump"

I would keep away from that place. Beside the point that I doubt the effectiveness of his rules, because experts long ago found out that what matters is below the bathing "costumes" and survives some showerings easily !
