Ausländerausweis received as Registered Mail (Einschreiben)

Good morning

I have a question regarding receiving a new Ausländerausweis by mail. My understanding is that the new plastic cards for EU people are mailed by Registered Mail (Einschreiben). That's also what I was told, and I will receive my updated Ausländerauweis next week.

What I want to know: Swiss Post allows one to issue online a Zustellgenehmigung for Einschreibens, which will result in the mailman just dorpping the Einschreiben into the mailbox, without requiring you to be at home for a signature.

However, senders of an Einschreiben can configure it so that this waiving of the signature is not possible.

My question: Has anyone who has received an Ausländerausweis as an Einschreiben tried giving the Zustellgenehmigung online, and did it work? Or did they have to be at home for the delivery or go to the post office to pick it up?

Thanks

I've lost my permit card this summer and when the replacement came I've issued a Zustellgenehmigung because I wasn't at home that morning. It worked out just fine, it was just dropped off in my mailbox.

Same as this, no registered mail.

I got a new one in Basel last year, it was just delivered to the mailbox no signature needed.
