Australian Marrige Certificate - Apostille

Having only recently left Australia - we found NSW Births, Deaths and Marriages very efficient - if they say it will take 2 weeks to do the paperwork, I'd be pretty confident that they will have it to you within that timeframe.

Quickest way is to express post your original documents to a friend, along with a letter signed by you authorising your friend to act on your behalf.

If they have the time, get them to go to the BDM office (in Sydney it's in the city near UTS/Chinatown)... in person, whatever time their office opens in the morning, explain it's urgent, be prepared to pay the additional fee to have the document done quickly...usually there's a set fee..it may also be possible to pick up the document when it is ready, but personally I'd say it's faster if they put it into the post as soon as it's ready.
