While I entirely agree, I lived not too far from the Zurich Stadium... on event days, there is a small fleet of tow trucks in my building parking lot. I usually can count at least 5-6.... They wait there until the event starts, and then they start their own event...
Just drove by this supermarket and happy I had my shoppings done already, towing company could earn a fortune there atm. Lidl parking space was stuffed, the whole other space with forbidden parking from the other companies all stuffed, and a whole bunch of cars parked on the pavement, on the road and a long waiting line of those not wanting to risk a fine. Damn that place was crowded.
I parked in a private road and had my car towed away. There was no towing warning sign, just a sign stating a maximum fine of chf 200. The police said they do not need to put a warning sign up of a possible towing away of ones car. So the sign warning of a chf 200 fine was totally misleading as usual. I should be used to this type of communication by now.
A sign warning of a Fr. 200 fine does not mean: "It's okay for you to park here as long as you're prepared to pay Fr. 200."
The sign that says "private road" means you're not allowed to drive or stop or park there, at all. It even means you're not to cycle or walk there, unless, of course, you are an owner of the road, or have special permission to use it. Since that is what "private road" means, there's no need for any towing sign, since you're just not allowed to be there, at all.
Indeed you should. It was pretty clear, apparently, as you even read the sign, but still, knowingly, chose to park on private property.
Obviously signs are completely wasted on you.
