Hello, not sure if you guys are still around but I would like to know if any of you really had an experience with Auto Zuri West. I am about to buy a new car (claimed to be new) but it is 20% cheaper than the price tag of a normal dealer. Sounds too good to be true and if this is really true, why everyone is not after them to buy a new car? So just wondering what is the catch. Thanks.
They give a 3-month warranty not a year (which you might get from a dealer). Dealer will also service the car thoroughly to manufacturer standard (in theory).
Having said that, AZW must shift pretty large volumes - so that surely has to give a reasonable feeling about them.
Thanks for the explanation but I am still not convinced. They said they give the standard 2Y Opel warranty and it works like a car bought at a normal dealer. If that's the case, how are the dealers still around i.e. they would be transformed in garages to fix cars and sales would come through similar importers. Weird I think. Thanks for your comments.
Never had big problems, and always bought second hand cars. Looks like swissies keep their cars perfectly in Ordnung
TCS is not so expensive and it's an excellent idea when the car is old and there's no road assistance warranty, for a bunch of CHF TCS offers road assistance.
Auto Züri West has a lot of cars, really a lot of them, it's a good starting point to have an idea of the prices, though I've heard people saying that you should never buy a car from them coz they are pirates selling junk, I guess you might find also english speaking salesmen there.
I've bought iron from BMW dealers, from shady small dealers/pushers near the airport and from auto discount wetzikon. No big problems from them.
Be prepared for an armed robbery when you sell the car: the car dealers/pushers/bandits are going to steal you around 10 thousand CHF when you sell your old ipiece of iron. If you can sell it on your own, it's much better.
Disclaimer: 3 beers, 1 caipirinha and 2 negronis don't guarantee that what I've written is fully reliable
Hi All, Maybe too late to answer this thread, but I bought an MGTF160 brandnew from AZW a couple of years ago. 9000chf under what it would have been for the same spec from a regular Swiss garage. I had no problems with 3 years of warranty from Epper Luzern, despite not having bought from them. They even honoured the warranty after MG went bust and stop honouring warranties in the UK...I had no bad experience from AZW and infact the reverse, they were very good. I agree about the test drive though, go elsewhere ! These guys want to sell new cars with 5kms on the clock not a secondhand test car with a 1000kms on it. There are also a few other Auto Discount places such as AZW, just put "Auto Discount" into google and check Switzerland pages only and a few more will appear.
I am currently selling my 2005 Black on Black Nissan 350Z Cabrio for 46K chf if anyone is interested by the way....Cheers and good luck buying your new motor !! sutski
