The new tunnel is ready. That only means the older ones are closed for maintenance works.
The opening of all tunnels traffic (full capacity) is expected by 2027…if everything goes as planned.

You must be part of that 80% of drivers who think they are above average.
That’s what a Tory would say. I bet you’ve got Ian Duncan Smith posters on your walls.
If you think killing people is a joke then that makes you quite a pathetic piece of excrement.
For the record, I did not bring cyclists into this topic - Tory boy did.
I thought I’d google what I said (and practice) earlier to see if I was correct even though I don’t consider myself a very good driver and am Zen-like in my driving.
Phantom jams, also called traffic waves or ghost jams, occur out of the blue without any visible explanation for the slowdown. Recent research, however, suggests that one of the main reasons behind these jams is a lack of sufficient spacing between vehicles on the highway. In 2018, CBC interviewed Berthold Horn, Professor of Computer Science and Engineering at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and he had this to say about it:
“If everyone stopped tailgating, that would already dramatically improve the situation.”
Didn’t you also call me a Corbynista?
Make your mind up mate because you sound more confused than Scooby Doo.
I expect that will make @roxi and @Bowlie happy as they ‘liked’ your comment about mowing down cyclists.
Not sure what you adults find so amusing about this unless you’re just doing your usual trolling.
My goodness. I didn’t think for a moment he was being serious.
I read stories of cyclists being “mown-down” quite regularly.
Not sure why it should be a subject for mirth.
What other forms of murder do you find amusing?
Of course he wasn’t.
I’m sure people treat winding Tom up as a sport given how obsessed and vocal about the topic he is.
A quip or two isn’t winding up, you’re exaggerating.
Must remember not to feed the troll…
Just thinking loudly, what about automated cars and liability? I just read one of the first texts google coughed as result:
It left me wondering:
The issue here is that automated driving resets the auto maker - consumer relationship from a collaboration with some antagonism to full antagonism.
Auto makers will not lose the lawsuits, by doing so, they gain a new enemy. For the company it may be a number, for the consumer is “I got shafted by ___”.
Just wondering about the future perception of dumb cars (non-automated). If I crash while driving my dumb car, at least it’s my mistake. Wondering what will the feeling be of having an accident after pushing a few buttons and not driving.
How dumb this self driving thing is. People buy a car worth 70,000 and dont even drive it. Society gets dummer every minute.
You just need to look a little into the future. Self-driving cars will begat shared ownership of cars which will begat organisations that will loan or rent their self-driving cars.
Ownership is DUMB. Your buy it and park it for 90% of the time. If you can rent or share it, and not have to fuel or maintain it - that is SMART!
Right. Mobility. Been invented without self-driving cars, long ago. “Wär hät’s erfunde?”
In Switzerland, yup.
Sure, but people want to ensure convenience and mobility. Potentially not having a car available in car share schemes is a pain. As is the process of booking a car. The nearest mobility car is a 10 minute walk away which is also a hassle.
Self-driving cars with a good app might help solve this problem as long as you have enough of them. If they are distributed well, you could hopefully be able to summon one on your phone and have it where you need in a couple of minutes.
Not where I live and where I live is where people need a car.
But one thing I didn’t think of: Self-driven cars could pick one up at home and wouldn’t need parking (it would just go home, like the little hoovers do, LOL). That indeed would be an advantage. Wanna bet that taxi-drivers are not thrilled at.all. about this prospect.
The advantage of this is that when you are finished, the car can drive it self back to a designated area to be charged (and cleaned) rather than dumped in a big pile like the current ebike rental problem some cities around the world face.
Self driving means the car comes to you. And when you are finished you don’t park it, it goes to the next customer.
That’s what uber and competitors already offer, and all we got is surge pricing.
