So ATPDigital can sign your Swiss exam recommendation, which allows you take the theory exam here. In the meantime you take a practical course at a place where they teach you in English.
Sounds like an interesting procedure... which may work
I guess it would be nice to have some instructor led theoretical courses too
For the instructor led theory - most schools will support you on that (I use a school at Eichenberger) and they are happy to teach theory where the online doesn't fill... but at Swiss instructor rates, an hour is pretty close to the full cost of ATPDigital.
Instead, I found a school in Holland (or was it Belgium, need to check); who offer intensive evening classes on top of ATP Digital... Keeping them as a backup. Either way, my plan is to start with ATPDigital and then see.
I see some big schools like Horizon, that also do an integrated and modular training up to ATPL (>120k).
I have seen other smaller flight schools like Eichenberger which are more around the 95k mark. Albiswings also seems to be an option to start with the PPL.
Also saw that if you do your training in Switzerland and then get contracted by a swiss airline (Easyjet Switzerland included?) the government pays some money back. 36k in the case of non-swiss but EU citizens.
Any general tips or recommendations regarding flight training in Switzerland would be much appreciated.
P.S. Please avoid recommendations of training somewhere cheaper in Europe. I'm already living here and have a 80% job, so looking for something modular part-time. My current job should be able to pay for the training over the next 2-3 years.
Would be really cool if you could share your process and any recommendations/tips.
Still looking into doing the PPL here in Switzerland. A school in Hausen Airport would be ideal for me, but plan B is Eichenberger in Buttwil.
Now doing it with an Irish provider (theory) and Eichenbergerfor the practical
I have been looking into ATPDigital from BGS like you mentioned in a previous post.
Could you please share how you did it at the end?
I am looking at starting my PPL journey, for private flying only
Thanks!
