B permit, spouse work

Probably the least corrupt process in officialdom . Just because you don't like it doesn't make it corrupt.

I tend to agree. I've yet to see an evidence of corruption here except the 'regie' for housing in Geneva. They are not corrupt but have attained a status of mafia..

In my own experience I would put Singapore as most un-corrupted country

Hi Bjaga,

If you get a B permit your wife can automatically start working. There will be no major paper work involved that will delay her start of work. My husband and me are both non EU. I got married and came here on his B permit and got a job in less than 2 months. It is by no means similar to the H4 VISA issued for the spouse where it is a pain to work for the spouse. Feel free to PM me for any questions you have if you find my case similar.

Hope this helps.

One thing I must say is that people have their own guesses for the criteria. I had one such guess but reading the different posts I can say that nothing is sure.

Issuing permits depends on your source country - you have one example and I have another contradicting the same.

So far the only satisfying answer is on the quota.. I 'guess' they are issued by quota..

I don't think the B permit has anything to do with nationality. I'm also non EU and got a B permit with a permanent contract right away. Good luck with your wife and check www.jobup.ch for job postings.

Im a soon to be spouse of a German who is a resident here. Im graduate of high school. I stepped into college..well, many colleges and universities but never graduated. I was dealing with depressions and perhaps my family was just "enabling" me and kept sending me to schools as a sort of therapy but i just couldnt focus so ended up flunking my subjects or i would tell them i dont like the course anymore and they spoiled me. The last school was unknown and i was aware of it and me and my fiance agreed it wont be of any use anyway so i quit again.

As far as occupation, ive "worked" only in our family businesses so i have very limited knowledge about that world. Now that im here bound to be a housewife, id like to know my options for part time work. Ive checked the links provided above but am not quite enlightened with things.

Am i qualified to go into training? I can list a university and a college where i studied for around 2 years each. Theres more schools but i didnt get all my papers.

Is there a total number of units from college, can that total be a combination of both schools or not? Are there exams i would have to take maybe to validate my academic status?

Im not sure how long i would have to wait for my B permit after wedding. While waiting, can i do housekeeping, petsitting (i intend to take up courses) privately? what else should i be aware of(legalities/requirements) before i accept offers or apply?

Thanks so much for reading, id appreciate any help, any opinion.

No idea what you're on about there.

You can't work without the B permit - you spouse should be able to do everything required this end so when you arrive it shouldn't take too long to get the permit.

Hi swissbob and thanks for feedback. Im already in swiss with visa D and residence permit. I want to know if i can do small jobs like dog walking, cleaning etc part time.

Someone posted a link where they give info how to be a "trainee" here in swiss and i didnt quite understand it. Like if they require a number of college units or a number of years in college to be admitted as a trainee, I read if from Japan only graduates are accepted (as an example). Those kind of issues.
