Bachelor in Switzerland with living here, with a foreign nationality

Hallo! I know, the title is a litte long but explain better my situation.

I'm Argentinien living in Switzerland with a permit B (Because of my marriage with a Schweizer) who wants to do a Bachelor in a swiss university.

I have all the documents they ask me except: "Proof of admission for the desired field of study at a recognized university in the country of origin of the school-leaving certificate"

I would like to know if someone had experienced this, because I find a little weird since I'm living here that I have to register first in an Argentinien University.

Thank you so much!! Your help will be really appreciated!

For what I understand is that candidates with foreign diplomas who intend to study in higher education institutions here have to bring the proof that their diploma would give them access without exam to higher education institutions (universities etc.) in their home country. In other words the swiss authority want to check if your diploma would give you the right to study in a recognized university in Argentina.

I understand that - but it’s bananas if they actually need people to apply to other unis. Surely just proof of entry requirements would be sufficient (For example a U.K. uni saying entry requirements are AAB etc).

Have you spoken directly with the admissions department at the desired university. I asked my husband (he is a professor at a Swiss Uni). He doesn‘t know the answer, but thinks this requirement makes no sense. Maybe it‘s been explained poorly to you.

Ask them what else you can do, probably you can get equivalence recognised some other way.

In any case getting admission (you don't have to actually register), might not be so difficult.

You don’t have to register at a university in Argentina. They are looking for a school leaving certificate equivalent to the Matura. Do you have something like that?

thank you so much for your time and your answers!! I'm writing emails with three universities, to have a better understanding of the situation! These are the requirements:

*High school diploma with an average grade of 7/10

This I have and is the same as an schweizer matura (sadly my grade is 67/100, and not 70/100)

*Proof of admission for the desired field of study at a recognized university in the country of origin of the school-leaving certificate

This is the one I'm looking for an answer, I already write to argentinien universities and they doesn't have any idea, they only want i pay for a student place with them.

*Supplementary examination ECUS

There are the equivalencies I have to do, once they let me study in a swiss university.

I will keep you updated of what they told me I think I will have to the schwize matura to can go to university

Hi swisscanmom, thank you for ur answer! I just described the three requirmentes they are asking me, and the first requirment is what are you talking about, the equivalent to the Matura

thank you for help me to notice the diference! I will ask the admission, not the registration thank you!

aw is really sweet of your part that u asked ur husband that works in an uni! I ask some more question to the universities, this way they clarify the situation better for me.

Thank you!

Thank you for ur answer! Yes, that I have

The 67/100 may be the issue. If they are looking for 70/100, in their eyes you failed. So they want the assurance that a university in your home country would accept you with those marks.

yes, i’m a little angry with myself because it’s only 3 points but i will ask if its possible to do extra tests! thank u again for writing!
