baking soda other than tiny packets

This has been touched on a number of times over the years, but for you newbies, Globus (I believe this store is called Jemoli up in the Suisse Allemande, ja?) sells 100 gram containers for 2,80 francs each of bicarbonate of soda and baking powder.

In English.

The brand is Heritage.

Really, it couldn't be any more clear.

It's not like we're talking about brown sugar, here, people. I mean, it's right there on the shelf. Just go get yourself some.

I found both Brown sugar and Baking Soda at Edeka in Germany

Jemoli and Globus are not the same.

However, you can buy natron (baking soda, sodium bicarbonate) in large quantities, e.g., a kilo or more here:

I think a kilo was about chf 6. It's food quality - can be used for baking, etc, but it's also really useful for cleaning purposes, etc. No baking powder, however.

These guys also have epsom salts (bittersalz), which I've not seen here before.

Thank you so much for this website. I would prefer to clean only with baking soda and finding it in large volume containers in Switzerland was impossible. Aside from the website being only in German, it was a breeze to use and the baking soda has already arrived.

If you live near the Italian border, it's easily available in supermarkets in Italy: bicarbonato di sodio

You can find it in 1kg containers in the Aligro.

Most Indian shops also carry it. You might need to ask for it.
