Bali IDR Cash exchange

Hi folks

So, we are going first time to Indonesia (Bali) soon and even though I'm used to using Revolut card, I believe it's worth to take some cash.

The question is - where to exchange CHF for IDR?

I saw some recommendations of SBB exchange service, but they charge a whooping 18% compared to the nominal rate.

Is it better to look for this already at Bali, or is there some good possibility still in Zurich?

We got some EUR and USD, converted to IDR in Indonesia, didn't trust the CC either with covid still a thing (though CC was no problem at all, and probably a bit less expensive overall).

Any surplus is much easier to use, to boot.

Careful with ATMs in Indonesia... many have ridiculously low maximum withdrawals... like 100 USD. As a result will you need to use them repeatedly and pay the fees multiple times. Pick a decent bank and exchange everything at once. If you do stuff like scuba diving ask your tourist guide- many want foreign currency and might offer you a better rate.

So as I get you guys, it's better to exchange CHF for IDR already in Indonesia instead of looking for the solution while being still in Switzerland. I will look what is possible in Denpasar then.
