Also, for people who dont feel they need to compansate for their small things with big cars...
Big SUVs driver - my kids are okay and who gives a sh*t about other peoples' kids.
(Yes, I realise from the posts here that this applies to half the people on this forum - it's just they don't recognise themselves in the mirror).
When one drives a TWO metric ton minibus with 7 persons inside, everybody gets its share of less then 300kg of stuff around them.
Mee, waant the best! Me don't say any "needs" but me waant the beeest.
But meee don't want to pay full price.
Get serious people, a "25-35k on a car that is nearly new (not brand new) " and you suggest a XC 90?`
Unless we don't have the same definition of "nearly new".
Anyway. "the best", let me laugh.
Miserable question. Miserable answers.
Yes, I grant you, I have pathetic attitude (to waste my time even answering that junk).
Get a Dacia... the dokker or the logan will both cost 9000-12000 new and carry 7 people... yes, everyone else on this forum will make pointless jokes, and try to justify why their car is better than the Dacia...
That said, I refer you to this thread:
https://www.englishforum.ch/transpor...bull-bars.html
where after putting my argument forward, I haven't had any recommendations on a better car
(on a side note, picked up my duster last week - turns out it comes with a steel sumpguard as stock, so the one I ordered isn't that needed. That said, I may still fit the aftermarket one as it covers part of the front bumper too... so provides a bit of scratch protection)

Most of it has to do with comfort and luxury, but a huge chunk is safety as well...
If only those people who genuinely NEEDED such a big car would buy the wretched things, it would not cause as many problems. But several of my acquaintances who do not have kids and say they never want them have intentionally chosen the biggest SUV from the brand that they happen to identify with, simply because they like marking their presence. This is also reflected in how they drive and how they talk about smaller cars on the road around them - "move out of my way, you little piece of cr@p" is putting it mildly. So when you choose a car like that, you are exposing yourself to negative reactions from people who are hacked off at this kind of driver. My friend's SUV that he chose because he needs to pull a horse trailer and his mum finds it easier to get into a higher car gets heavily keyed at least once a year.
I have a problem with the type of people who own them for urban shopping and school runs.
But, it's a free country. Do what you want.
It is not the biggest 7 seater you can get but if you need it only occasionally, this will suit your need.
Not exactly surprise news, is it?
