Thanks for the tip - I was using iTunes for some US shows, but CastTV has a few others and it's free. It doesn't work when what you select is directed to Hulu, but still a good option.
This sounds like a good one, thanks for recommending. I'm so happy my other computer is a mac where I only need to drag and drop the program icon to the Trash - so simple!
May be obvious to some of you but I will share some advice anyway... remember that when using a proxy you are tunneling all of your traffic through some 3rd party that you dont know.
If you add a proxy in your browser for Spotify and then open a new tab in the same browser to do something else, that data will also go via the proxy.
If you're just watching US shows or something then its no big deal, but if you're doing anything sensitive over an unencrypted connection via some proxy in the US or elsewhere, you might want to stop and think about who could be reading it.
A lot of the documents on wikileaks got there due to people sending sensitive info over unencrypted channels whilst using Tor to mask their source address.
That is precicely why I would reccomend JonDo. You have to pay a very nominal fee and then it uses a mix of two to three different servers located in two or three different countries. Leaks? Possible but not probable.
I could rent two to three servers in different countries for a few dollars a month. Either use encryption or don't use a proxy for things you wouldnt want to do in public (like your EF password that you also use for your email account which is the base identity for all your other web accounts).
Yes, lets all rush off and use this free software. After all, it's recommended by two people with their first posting on this forum. One from Czech Republic, one from Canada. And replying to a thread which is 3 years old. So, the software must be brilliant and 100% safe, no?
