Best app to hide my IP Address

did anyone get to have Blockbuster VOD or Netflix to work here? one of them should work with PS3 right?

the Swiss national team is playing tomorrow (ok only against Austria but anyway) and I can't watch it online as my UK ip is getting blocked.

I've tried all those tips in this thread and googled like crazy but can't come up with a solution how to get a free Swiss ip.

I've used hotspot shield before, but it no longer works -- what's going on with that guy recently?

Just used hotspot shield last night... worked just fine. How odd...

I'll have to have a little "chat" with my Mac tonight, maybe she just doesn't like MTV.com, who knows?

Thanks for the tip - I was using iTunes for some US shows, but CastTV has a few others and it's free. It doesn't work when what you select is directed to Hulu, but still a good option.

Great thread for us newbies!

I use www.surfthechannel.com . Has almost everything I look for. HotSpot Shield stopped my internet connection from working for some reason :mad

Hot Spot is notorious for messing with the PC and even when you uninstall it, it leaves a foot print. Try JonDo (JAP)

I'll try that one. As soon as I uninstalled it, my internet came back on. It made me wonder if cablecom blocks the connection?

How do I erase the footprint? Thanks in advance for the advice.

I had issues with htis program in the days when I was using XP which was several years ago. Here is something that be up your alley,

This sounds like a good one, thanks for recommending. I'm so happy my other computer is a mac where I only need to drag and drop the program icon to the Trash - so simple!

Get on Win 7.. after a long time I can safely reccomend this OS

May be obvious to some of you but I will share some advice anyway... remember that when using a proxy you are tunneling all of your traffic through some 3rd party that you dont know.

If you add a proxy in your browser for Spotify and then open a new tab in the same browser to do something else, that data will also go via the proxy.

If you're just watching US shows or something then its no big deal, but if you're doing anything sensitive over an unencrypted connection via some proxy in the US or elsewhere, you might want to stop and think about who could be reading it.

A lot of the documents on wikileaks got there due to people sending sensitive info over unencrypted channels whilst using Tor to mask their source address.

That is precicely why I would reccomend JonDo. You have to pay a very nominal fee and then it uses a mix of two to three different servers located in two or three different countries. Leaks? Possible but not probable.

I could rent two to three servers in different countries for a few dollars a month. Either use encryption or don't use a proxy for things you wouldnt want to do in public (like your EF password that you also use for your email account which is the base identity for all your other web accounts).

for me the best way how to hide my IP Address is use this VPN software , is for free and speed is fast.

I personally use this one http://www.idcloak.com/vpn-price/unm...e-pricing.html >

It is for free and it works great!

Maybe you can try it!

Good luck >;D

Yes, lets all rush off and use this free software. After all, it's recommended by two people with their first posting on this forum. One from Czech Republic, one from Canada. And replying to a thread which is 3 years old. So, the software must be brilliant and 100% safe, no?

Whats that smell around here?

I wrote on this thread years ago and ended up using Witopia. It's been super. I pay for it and it works. I can even still access US Netflix.
