Blue light LCDs

Bummer, I’ve heard many times about the “harmful blue light” yadda yadda… but I always wave that away as a marketing gimmick.

I’m using a new laptop since a few months, and somehow I’ve been always feeling like I can’t properly adjust the intensity of the light. It just makes me tired. I’ve already switched to dark mode, even applied the “night time shift” to make the colors a bit warm.

Just today, I was clearing my previous laptop to donate it and I can’t believe how nice the old screen is. It appears much more natural/neutral, seems to have much higher contrast, and above all when those two are side by side the new one is heavily bluish instead of white :exploding_head: looks like I’m going to change laptop again. As a matter of fact, it’s lenovo profesional line, but I’ve just read that these days it means very little. Lenovo allows several other companies to produce the parts, so in the end when you’re buying a laptop off the shelf you don’t even know which parts will you get :exploding_head: I guess, I’m going to buy next at digitec, and just do trial and error until I find a good one :person_shrugging:

You can also use blue light filtering glasses.

Well, that’s a solution if there was no other choice.

I’ve found a replacement LCD from LG for ~150 usd, but I don’t even know yet which one I currently have. With such price I think I’ll go that route, but need to google more if it’s the right part.
