OK - just to give everyone a short summary of my past experience. It actually took almost 20 hours before my instructor told me that I was good to go for the practical exam. You can do boatsharing with somebody else but it probably makes sense only for some 5hrs max - as then it really comes down to the practice. The theory part of the exam was quite doable. Unfortunately, there is not any prep material in English other than one app with clumsy English vocabulary. The practical test is all about the docking maneuvers plus man over board and some theory questions and knots. I can make a recommendation for a great instructor based out of Hergiswill/Stansstad speaking English. He also arranged for an English speaker examiner so at the end I managed to do both theory and practical in English. I also got a boat already and have been enjoying the summer.
I thinking of taking it another step and buying a wake shaper and go for wake surfing.
Any experience - recommendation anyone?
Keep to 50 kph in the harbour. 58 kph won't do.
