I am looking for any recommendations for a car bodyshop speciaist either in Basel or somewhere nearby over the border? Its for modding a BMW. The places I asked around in Basel were taking the mick with quoting unreasonlably high (and also because they seemed a bit unfamiliar with e.g. swapping out a rear diffuser on an msport).
The rear diffuser is only hold in place by a few bolts/screws. And big screws, no need to be delicate or careful. So, not that hard to do it by yourself. This may not be the right model, but for sure there's a video for your car
If you don't have the tools, any car mechanic has them. No need for a specialized body shop. Mechanics quote by hour, so all transparent.
yeah I found a video with my car model showing how to do it. I did consider going to those self-service places where they have ramps and tools, but then again would be happy to pay a reasonable fee to a Garage who charges sensibly.
Its also front lip as well as rear diffuser that I want to attach! G31 5 series touring. If you know a place that does it, would appreciate the recommendation! Havent surveyed a huge number of garages in Basel, but from the 4 places I contacted, 2 said they cant do it and the others quoted 350-400 CHF (2 hrs) per item!
Last October a mechanic charged me ~130 CHF/hour to install a tow bar to carry a bicycle rack. That’s how I learnt about the rear diffuser. The rear diffuser needed to be cut to make things work. I bought a cheap one from Ricardo to be cut, and the original one with original paint is on my cellar
Of course, inflation. Maybe 140 CHF/hour and maybe 1 hour per item, that would be reasonable. There are not things like parking sensors or lights on those trim parts.
