broken blinds

In our flat on the ground floor we have a covered loggia that ends in glass panels that can be opened onto our terrace/patio area (which legally doesn't belong to our flat, but to the inner courtyard of the house. Practically everyone has patio furniture and flowers, BBQ etc. outside).

The 4-meter long blinds (Storen in German?) in front of the glass broke (rewind-rope torn) and are hanging in the "down" position for the last 32 days now. A person from the vendor was here 3 weeks ago, then apparently the agency has ordered a new blind 2 weeks ago. I'm waiting for delivery.

I've asked a couple of times about the status as now we can't go out to our patio area and the flat is also pretty dark with the blinds down. The answer so far has been "delivery is delayed due to covid" and nothing else.

The question is how long I need to endure this status quo as a renter? I've signaled the problem a month ago and apparently the agency does not bother itself too much with a rapid resolution. Thanksfully the weather has not been fantastic these last 4 weeks, but I'm missing our garden and am having the lights on all day due to it being dark in the flat otherwise.

Is there any way I can escalate this legally?

What do you propose they do? I understand it is frustrating but the problem appears to be with a third party supplier. I am certain everyone wants to resolve this as quickly as possible.

We still haven't had our damaged ones replaced since a hail storm last summer.

At least ours are still functional.

There is an extreme shortage of these shutters presently so

there's not really much you can do.

Without seeing a photo of your shutters, the following information may be invalid but for most shutters, the tapes can easily be replaced - I've done loads and have a reel of the tape especially for it.

If the shutters are those standard aluminium ones then it's shocking that you are having them replaced when just a tape needs replacing which can be done by many companies in a few minutes.

That was my thinking as well. But alas, it's some "special" thing - first it's 4 meters long so it's super heavy. Second, the rewind tapes are somehow not just hooked in somewhere, but hard-pressed into the securing mechanism, and this renders a local fix impossible. The Pro Guy that came to take a look said they have to de-mount it, ship it somewhere to Kt Luzern, have it fixed there and ship it back for mounting back up.

Apparently the agency just went ahead and had the whole thing replaced, which I think is a total nonsense, but I'm just a renter, so what do i care

BTW I got info that the new blinds are coming next week, so in 2 weeks we might have a new one, finally.

Maybe that's why it gets replaced instead of repaired - possibly replaced with a couple standard-ish ones.

Did you ask what's going to happen?

I guess they will bring the same stuff, just new, the current one is 15+ yrs old - the whole building with some 50-flats have the same blinds.
