I know that if you use pension funds to buy a house, you need to occupy it for your own residence. Should this be done immediately? What if it is in the middle of school year etc.
Any information about grace period, experience will be much appreciated. (holding C permits, bank seems to be flexible, my question is mainly about pension fund, Kanton etc) Thank you.
Note - I know I can ask pension fund directly, but I am afraid they would not give me all possibilities. I plan to check with them eventually.
Ask a lawyer/notary dealing with the purchase
I have not done this but I guess common sense would prevail? There was recently a similar question on this and if the house would need big reconstruction obviously you cannot live in it straightway. If no reconstruction was planned then you would be expected to move in sooner rather than later. And I suppose if you were to say that you move in August to allow school yr to finish it would be fine.
Given you have a C permit the issue will be more if you use your pension fund to buy the house as then you would be forced to use as primary residence.
When we bought ours 11 years ago we signed the contracts in May, but didn’t move in until September. As it was only half a kilometre from where our rented out was we did most of the moving stuff ourselves in our spare time. Never even thought anything about any “grace period” and nothing was mentioned to us by anyone.
