Are you suggesting Swiss citizens need a permit to buy a house to rent out? EU nationals can buy property to rent without any problem assuming they either buy outright or their bank is happy to give them a mortgage.

I always thought you could only buy a main residence & not an investment property with a B. If you leave CH & have no permit I suspect you can rent it out, you can certainly keep it after departure.

Now... does it make sense to ask for a loan, buy a flat and rent it? is it a good business over here?

So my wife and I own a small house in Neuhausen. Finally we found a something we like (and can afford) in AG. We made an offer, it was accepted. The real estate agent sent the details to the notary and they sent us the draft contract.

I need to specify that I have a B permit, while my wife already has a C (she has a B2 language diploma, I only have an A2).

So we notice that the contract says that we declare that we want to use the new property in AG as our main domicile (true) and we don't own any other property in Switzerland (incorrect). We point this out to the notary and the say in this case we cannot purchase a second property on both our names, just on my wife's.

I don't have a problem with the property being owned soley by my wife, but our bank does, as I have the bulk of our income. But then my client advisor at the bank sends me this link .

This table clearly shows that as EU citizens we have the right to own multiple properties in CH (or at least in AG), even with permit B.

I have no idea how the notary would say otherwise, they are yet to respond.
