I recently received my C-permit extension letter from the Migrationsamt. It only asks for Passport copy, current C-permit, and the filled form. It asks for any changed status with address, job or marital status, which would now be my divorced status.
I'd read somewhere that they now ask for a language certificate, but this wasn't in the list of documents in this letter. Is it possible that they can get back and ask for additional documents later? I'm wondering if I should I take a test anyway and keep that ready or wait to hear from them?
What is the typical waiting time between when you submit the docs and receive the new C-permit?

Renewing a permit C is like renewing a passport, or driving license (in those country where you have to get a new card every so oft.) All you need is a new permit card card every so often.
Or as the law says:
There are some reasons when a permit C can be revoked, or downgraded to B. But that comes with special procedures and processes and has nothing to do with renewing the permit card.
That myth has to stop right now and here. It has been, already discussed many, many, uncountable numerous times: No. You Do Not Need A Language Certificate to Renew Your Permit C Card.
Your spouse can be required to show at least an A1 level of spoken language ability to renew their B permit.

And to OBTAIN the C permit a language certificate is now needed (some exceptions apply depending on the background of the applicant).
But when you have the C permit already it seems there is no language requirement for extension.
