I am from Denmark/EU and I am approaching the 5 years on my B permit. I was under the impression that since my country has a settlement agreement with Switzerland, I did not have to provide a proof of language proficiency in order to get the C Permit. Unfortunately I was informed that this is not the case any more since October 2022. Strangely Switzerland decided to change that law and now requires a language certificate for Danish citizens (at the same time Danmark does not require any language certificate from Swiss citizens that want to settle in the country for the long term, i personally know thay from my sibling's spouse who is Swiss and lives in Copenhagen).
Here is my question in case someone has any suggestions on what I should do:
I am planning to move from Geneva, where I currently live, and go to either Zug or Schwyz.
Does anyone have any knowledge over the language requirements for those two cantons? I am asking because I have found confusing information online or when I contacted the immigration offices of those two cantons (for example for Schwyz, an agent at the immigration office told me that they only require A2 level in speaking German which sounded extremely strange to me, since most cantons require also a decent level in writing)
Thank you very much in advance for all the help! I greatly appreciate it!
