My goodness, I respect those people who take three showers per day (I only take one every day and I swear I don't smell!), but don't you think that 3x30 mins invested in shower time every day is a waste of: A) natural resources, b) you own time, and c) money from the family who was hosting you?
Based on an estimated mix of fast and slow showers, you spend about a couple of weeks in the shower each year. God, how many parties do you get invited to?!
I made the following graphic last year with data from various sources. It shows the liters of water used each day pro person. Red is industrial usage, blue is domestic usage and yellow means that only data for the total volume was available.

In some water thirsty countries there are water meters. Every drop you use you pay well for it. My sister-in-law doesn't invite us to stay any more as our daily shower ruined her household budgeting (or so she thinks..) .

My morning shower lasts usually 20-30 minutes and my nights one just 10-20 minutes.
I usually go to the shower use some shampoo (wash the hair, take away all the dirty, smoke smell from 'cigar', invisible particules and so on) and some conditionator (make the hair smells really good and makes it soft).
I use some soap + a soft stone.
Then I shave (everyother day). I do it in the shower so i dont need an aftershave (it drys your face off, even those non-alcool ones), and still my skin is soft and not irritated.
In the night i just use water and eventually some soap (it's not good to use it more then once a day because it takes away all the oil from you body and makes your bodyskin 'not-so-soft').
I don't really think it's a lot.
I leave home at 7:45am and i wake up at 7am.
I hear that some swiss leave home at 7-8am, don't shower and yet wake up at 5am.

I know that i live in a very 'horny' country and we are usually more interested in women then other countries (Nudity beaches don't work here, we just can't resist...), but i'm pretty sure young boys from all over (except USA) masturbate their selfs daily.

That's my reasoning too. I believe in showering before bedtime, and again in the morning, cannot wake up before I had a shower anyway. Baths are a waste of water. My Swiss father-in-law showered maybe once a week, o my gosh, the whole house smelled, he stunk so bad nobody wanted to go see him anymore. Then he got a girlfriend, still do not know how, maybe one day after he took a shower, then things got a little better.
