I am aware that you have to be 18 to drive a car; however, foreign licenses are valid for a year. So, if my 16 is licensed in the US, can he drive in Switzerland?
Nope.
Only once he is 18.

I think the answer is, it depends.
Between 16-18 YO it's possible to drive cars with max speed of 45 kmh, or scooters up to 50 cm3 cylinder volume.
Thanks everyone!
And tractors.
49.9cc
Tom
hahaha, got me. Indeed, cylinder volume LESS THAN 50 cc or electric motor LESS THAN 4kW output.
Same thing for 125cc (124.9), etc.
