Can my employer open a SwissCaution account on my behalf?

Hi everyone,

I have just moved to Switzerland. Without going into the full story (that involves U.K. Home Office delays and still having one of my passports), am I hoping to get the keys to my first apartment here on Monday.

However I don’t yet have my permit because of the delays with my passport in the U.K. (I arrived on my other passport). Now I’ve discovered that I can’t open a SwissCaution account or other rental guarantee account without my permit.

Does anyone know if it’s possible for my employer to handle the Swiss caution on my behalf until I am able to sort it myself once I have my permit?

What about AXA Mietkaution? I've just tried to buy it and I wasn't asked for permit details etc

A caution by Axa looks clearly superior as they have no fixed costs, cost less per year than Swisscaution, and return any unused premium.

Confirming that AXA does not require evidence of visa status to purchase a caution. Happy days!
