Cancelling Phone and Internet when leaving Swiss

Hi Guys,

Do you have to pay a fee when you are cancelling your phone and internet contract? Is this even the case if you are deregistering for good?

Would depend on your provider. Can indeed imagine some will have a "closing account" fee. And some will demand all their machines back in original boxes....

Yes, it depends on the contract.

Usually there is a cancellation fee, and the reason of the cancellation is not relevant. The fee can have a different amount depending on the time passed since the activation of the subscription.

The fee is waived by law in case of unilateral contract changes from the provider, for a limited time window, after which the new contract is considered accepted. But in this case you are informed in writing.
