Hmm, I admit I am far from being infected with over-correctness so popular these days, but I admit what I wrote might appear racist. How else would you define situation that 100% of all drug dealers I ever saw during last 2.5 years around my apartment are black, and all junkies/punk/whatever people sitting/standing around Riponne and drinking beer or boxed wine were white?

Actually no. For living here and having witnessed numerous time, the guy's description is correct. And not racist.

But for your info, other dealers from other race, are in another street...

It seems they are not mixing together well and have separated their "market" into races zone.

I live between Chauderon and Riponne, and can confirm the races, but it's the Tunisians / other Arabs selling the haschish and the blacks (West Africans mostly) selling cocaine. The police have been trying to crack down quite a bit lately but that doesn't seem to change anything till they fix the delinquent asylum seeker problem. The alcohol / heroine addicts around Riponne are just part of the scenery.

French speaking Cantons have been for the last 10 or so years been cracking down heavily on cannabis usage, although a recent agreement between Justice ministers now allows for personal pot growing, so maybe just everyone grows their own.

Oh, and never go into public toilets in Lausanne, ever.

im not talking about shady drug business. those guys only sell crap.

I'm talking about the weed that grows and flows in huge quantities. like out in california or solothurn! these guys are white, and just like anyone else. not shady at all. i suppose you have to know them. it just seems like our quantities/quality here are much smaller than up north. up there its like some professionally gown produce, while down here in montreux standards are much lower, like some kids backyard bush. i honestly see a difference between french and german switzerland ( maybe not geneva + lausanne)
