Is there a service that will sell peoples cars for them? The dealer would buy ours, but the price is significantly lower than comparable vehicles on Auto Scout. I would rather not list on Auto Scout myself.
TCS offers this as a service. Not sure how much it costs.

Wel of course because the dealer wants to get paid for the work that they will do, potential warranty they will issue etc.
If you are not prepared to do work yourself, you need to pay someone to do said work.
Consider time saved, hassle saved etc and see if it's worth it to you or not.
Dealer charges a lot for service and for the risk. He buys at a price, and then needs to re-sell at a price which might significantly move one way or the other.
TCS just charges for the service but does not buy the car - hence the difference in price.
Actually - does anyone know if TCS guarantees a price?
e.g. dealer offers 45k for a car.... you see it on autoscout selling for 60k; so ask TCS to sell it. They do the "market valuation" of the car at 20k.
Do they guarantee to get more than the 45k? Or do they then sell it at auction, and you may get 20k?
I spoke to TCS today. They appraise the car and if you agree with their price, you sign a contract that also includes your lowest acceptable price. If you don't agree with their appraisal, you wouldn't have to sign the contract.
The dealer has to resell the car plus pay double the value added tax. That's the reason for the lower than market offer. However, if you sell privately, no tax is involved.
That's not true. he can work with a fictional rate when trading in (fiktive Vorsteuerabzug).
