I have a ski pass and a sim card that I want to throw away.
Is the used battery bin in the supermarket the correct place for these? The ski pass has a "don't throw in the garbage" sign on it.

I'll leave it someone in Zurich to advise further, but if you can return it - it could be reused rather than disposed of.
