one of the requirements for family reunification of non-EU permit holders is that the spouse either has a certificate for German A1 (for German-speaking cantons) or "evidence of enrolment in a language course". In the latter case, does anyone know if the person must be enrolled in a course somewhere in Switzerland, or they can be enrolled in a course in another country (for example, an online course)?
I have read the requirements document ( https://www.eda.admin.ch/dam/countri...achweis_EN.pdf ) but it is not clear if they will accept only language schools located in Switzerland or the ones abroad as well. FAQ 7 in that document mentions "Language courses may also be taken abroad; the main criterion is that proof of the required level can be provided." but I am not sure if that is related only to the certificate or the enrolment as well?
I am planning to start an online A1 course in my country (in Goethe Institute whose certificates are accepted by Swiss authorities), before coming to CH, but I might not be able to finish the course & pass the exam before having to apply for visa/permit.
Thanks for any info
