I recently booked tickets to see Nigel Kennedy in Lausanne on Tuesday 21 March (tomorrow) and was informed on Sunday (18 March) that the concert was not going to go ahead and had been postponed until Sunday 24 September.
No reason given.
We do not have "Ticket Corner" insurance with the tixs as i am covered elsewhere if i was ill and couldn't attend.
I will probably request a refund for the tixs which Ticket Corner will undoubtedly refuse hiding behind some fine print.
Is there any legal obligation to Ticket Corner to refund these tickets as the time has totally changed and does not suit me. Why do i have to accept a different date to what i accepted and paid for as this is a fundamental change in the contract.
The alternative solution is do go down the charge-back route with my credit card company but before this i need to try with ticket corner first and to do this i would like to know if there is any legal jurisprudence on refunds for a unilateral change of date with no other reasons given.
The tickets you have booked remain valid for the postponed date and/or a new venue and cannot be returned.
If you have taken out ticket protection insurance and are unable to attend the new date (as soon as this is known) for previously known and insured reasons, you will be refunded the ticket price. Please contact our insurance partner directly, stating the reason for your inability to attend.
Please note: If you purchased your tickets from the Mobiliar ticket shop, please contact Mobi24 AG.
If you have not taken out ticket protection insurance with us, check whether one of your other insurance policies (e.g. travel or household insurance) covers the loss.
If you have not taken out insurance and are unable to attend the new date (as soon as this is known), we recommend Ticketcorner’s secure fanSALE resale platform.
Never send back tickets from postponed events, as you can no longer resell them and will no longer be admitted to the event.
The ticketcorner fansale site charges you 10% of the face value, if it sells. They charge the buyer the face value plus another 10% in fees and charges.
They also forbid you to sell your tickets to a third party.
This really is unacceptable but who do you complain to.
I bought tickets for a specific date which i accepted, to just change them to a new date that they decide on isn't really fair..... and i am not 100% they can do this without offering a full refund.
I shouldn't need some bullshit "insurance" at extra cost to cover this.
