Changing Apple App Store Country

Hello,

Has anyone followed the below Apple instructions with success not losing anything (playlists, saved podcasts, books etc.)?

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201389

Worried to switch as an Apple One subscriber and don’t want to lose playlists, saved podcasts, books etc. News+ will unfortunately be lost since it’s not available in CH yet, but that’s fine.

Thanks for any tips/learnings/pitfalls!

I ended up creating a second account - this way I can switch between the two as some apps aren't available here (and vice versa). No issues having apps installed from 2+ different accounts on the same phone

Ya that’s what I did. Get a new appleid here https://appleid.apple.com .

As far as I know, unfortunately if you were to change country on your AppleID, you would lose all playlists etc. This is due to licensing on the music etc.

As others said, best to create a new AppleID.

interesting, i've had this "issue" for years as a I have a US apple id and can't use twint as that is not available in the US app store. when you have 2 apple ids how do you easily switch between ids? I'd have a 2nd apple id only to be able to use twint and some other local bank apps

I made a US account a long time ago. It was not easy. Fake names etc etc. Apple is crazy.

Go into settings, app store, sign out of one account, then go back in and sign in with the second. Buy/download the TWINT app. Open and run it to make sure all works. You can then swap back to the previous account and TWINT will run without the Swiss apple ID logged in.

The main problem I had was adding money to the iTunes account. . I could not use the Swiss credit card because Apple demanded that the card be registered in the same country as the Apple account. So now I have to buy Apple gift cards on Offgamers and then load it up on the iTunes USA account.

That also works for netflix, spotify, etc

Brazilian spotify is substantially cheaper
