Child citizenship - apply alone what age?

My son in one year (10 years old), meets the criteria on

residency with the doubling of years from 8.

We are 2 years behind him re residency.

He is in the local school and speaks the language.

Can he apply alone with our permission for citizenship?

(Canton Zug). I am unable to find any information on

this subject, that is easy to understand.

Generally, yes he can. See this leaflet .

Canton Zug requires five years residence, thereof the most recent three without interruption in your current municipality.

The minimum age at which a child can apply independently varies according to the canton.

9 is the absolute minimum if a child is born here. I know it’s possible at age 9 in Neuchâtel but in Vaud the minimum age is 14.

I have no idea about Zug but you will need to check that.

I agree with Belgianmum, you will need to contact the cantonal naturalization office for a definitive answer.

In BS, the minimum age is 12, and this is published in their naturalization materials and forms.

Zug mentions no minimum age criteria on their page .
